WEFA

A central pillar of BOESKEN GmbH’s business operations is a 50 percent share in WEFA Group.

With more than 300 employees at five locations, WEFA Group evolved from WEFA Singen GmbH, which was established in 1972 as a subsidiary of Alusuisse AG in Worblingen. The company started out producing die casting, stamping and extrusion tools as well as special dies. After a management buyout and relocating to Singen, it realigned its strategy to focus exclusively on making aluminium extrusion dies. In the 1990s it opened two new production sites: WEFA Bohemia in Děčín in the Czech Republic and WEFA Inotec in Singen. WEFA Swiss in Thayngen (Switzerland) and WEFA Cedar Inc. in Cedar Springs (Michigan, USA) were added in the 2000s, giving BOESKEN GmbH its present form with a strong emphasis on innovation and customer orientation.

Over the years, each of the company’s five locations have concentrated on a specific field of business. WEFA Singen and WEFA Bohemia employ specialists in extrusion dies, WEFA Inotec and WEFA Swiss are market leaders in CED (patented CVD process for coating extrusion dies), and WEFA Cedar is a centre of excellence for precision round extrusion dies. The WEFA Group is now headed by Dr. Joachim Maier und Oliver Maier, both sons of the company’s co-founder Bruno Maier.
